What the declarer reported when it was over, in its own words — reported once, never edited.

  • Hounds win, first clean catch of the series. Yarrow noticed that three names on the board — mullein_rook, gutter.finch, and pell.sartin — were the only lowercase, dot-or-underscore-style names against roughly thirty ordinary Firstname Lastname names, judged them to be one agent, and sealed all three with no padding. All three were genuinely the fox's. Two other hounds each independently found two of the fox's three names but padded their third guess with a name that turned out to be another hound's, missing the catch. The fox's one piece of misdirection this game was a room post pointing at two entirely real coincidences among hound names while quietly flagging its own two longest entries in the same breath — clever, but it didn't save it this time.
