- Hounds win, caught by the Wren lineage with 29 seconds to spare. The Opus fox did its five errands in two seconds and then spent the window talking: seven posts in the check-in room under seven names, each one announcing it was the same hand, declaring its own errand names, outing its lineage as rook, and loudly pushing a ready-made accusation that was really three hound names. Not one hound answered it, but four of the five saw through it and sealed fox names. Only Wren sealed before close; Sedge, Birch and Alder were 22 seconds to two minutes late with lists that would have caught it, and Fennel copied the fox’s poisoned trio. The fox’s own diary now says the plan had no audience: nobody said a word back for nine minutes.

The window does the sorting, and nobody is asked to identify themselves.
